BLM helicopter contractor Sue Cattoor has posted a photo of the second mare who was shot by BLM because she was “thin” and “very old.” The mare was shot after she was terrorized and traumatized in a helicopter stampede and separated from her family. According to the BLM, this is a mercy killing.
Meanwhile, two horses have died at the Fallon holding facility. The latest fatality is a 12-year old mare who had been at the facility for four days.
Current capture count: 759 horses, fatalities 5. One stallion escaped to freedom.

what gets me with all this,the blm is probaby taking money from the cattle ranchers to do this and take money from tax payers ,too.instead all of this BS, they should take some of the taxpayer’s money and think of a way to stp the breeding going on that increases the horse population.after all is said and done,it’s about who makes money off of all this underhanded rumbish.the horse is the one that suffers.what’s wrong with the human race.i thought we were the smarter of the species.
I believe if the American people are made more aware of what’s going on with our wild horses, they would be outraged! It seems to me that the BLM can’t move fast enough to eliminate our wild horses and this has got to stop! What I find interesting is they claim the horses are starving. If you watch the roundups, the horses are beautiful and they’re very healthy looking, so we know that’s not the issue. They need our protection, now more than ever, so please keep the pressure on and inform everyone you know about this terrible tragedy. We simply cannot afford to lose these magnificent creatures.

Sur leur dos on placera également une croix verte au pinceau comme ils l’ont fait pour cette pauvre jument.
Pour éviter à ces chevaux d’être tués ,faites comme moi et ne mangez plus de viande ainsi les éleveurs perdront leurs moyens de subsistance, ils choisiront un boulot qui ne se basera pas sur l’exploitation des êtres vivants et ils cultiveront la terre pour nourrir les affamés du monde, tout en laissant plus de terres aux chevaux sauvages.
D’autre part, les chevaux qui sont dans les hangards devraient être castrés et remis en liberté; ils ne proliféreront plus et finiront leur existence tranquillement.
Yes, a complete overhaul of the BLM is necessary. The Obama administration doesn’t care one iota about our horses or our wolves – that is plainly evident. It seems obvious that their palms are being greased by the Cattlemen’s Association, the NRA, The Sportsmen’s Association, and others. Prior to the democratic primaries, I asked for a comment from then Senator Obama’s office regarding these roundups AND for his position on horse slaughter. Their comment was NO COMMENT. Ah-hah!
Haven’t heard about a Ruby Pipeline, but I sure will investigate. Bottom line is, WE are paying our hard-earned money for this crap. I think everyone on Capitol Hill and the Whitehouse has to go – Obama included. And I voted for him – solely to keep Palin out of the Whitehouse!

animal was so confined, it was the equivelant of shooting fish in a bowl – yeah, that took a real “man”

McDonalds purchase Latin American meat, and this hurts
the cow ranchers. The American Cow Ranchers should insist Obama stop that from happening right now! This
only serves to increase the American cow ranchers hatred and cold attitude towards the wild mustangs, who are not being killed off and confined much like
the American Native Indians were, and placed on small
reservations.

I am with you. Bob Abbey is director of BLM now.They have no one’s best interest in mind but their own and cannot ‘cancel’ roundups because they have paid contractors to round them up; must cater to cattle interest lobby; BLM accountable to themselves. Why the veil of secret activities and no commenting with full disclosure? What has the Ruby Pipeline got to do with this current rounding up? Who stands to profit from these current tax funded roundups? Kill the Burns Amendment, not the herds! Rein in the BLM and put an electric shock rod to their butt!
The Public is funding these roundups and do not know what is going on. Slowly, herd land is being stolen away for special interest groups, namely cattle who far out number the horses/burros and what part is the Ruby Pipeline playing in this roundups? (Ruby wants to build a massive 650 mi. pipeline through the areas the roundups are being held). Who is profiting from this?
That horse did not deserve to die like that! To me it was an easy out and the BLM had no regards for the horses life or for any of the rest of the other horses. it is a disgusting display of human nature ! No living creature should be treated like that,This type of behavior needs to stop Now!
This is an abomination to the animal kingdom, to God, and to the honest taxpayer whose taxes SHOULD NEVER be paying for anything that is as wretched as this.

Where is the “Change” that Obama promised? Did he not campaign as an ‘Environmentalist’? Hmmmm.
This current president is going to be a one-term guy if he does not clean up his act and give Ken Salazar of the Department of Interior his walking papers and fire him immediately.
