CBS Airs Mustang Piece: Please Post Comment Asking For News Story

Author: Last weekend the CBS Sunday Morning news program aired breathtaking video of “Wild Horses of Nevada” at the end of the program. Filmmaker and burro and wild horse advocate Carl Mrozek recently took this video of the beautiful, healthy mustangs in the wild. You can watch the video by clicking here.
Please take a few minutes to post a brief comment to urge CBS News to do a news segment on the wild horse issue. We hope that if CBS gets a huge response it may trigger broader coverage of the mustang/ burro story. The response over the next several days will be key. This is a prime & rare opportunity for advocates to make their case directly to CBS producers, via the CBS website so please take full advantage of it.

Urge Congress to support reform of the broken BLM Wild Horses and Burros program of 1971, which clearly specified these wild animals should remain free without boundaries in our west. Amendments to this law added by Congress to satisfy the powerful cattle industry should be abolished. Also, Secretary Salazar’s 42.5 million dollar idea to purchase land in the midwest or northeast for relocating these beautiful animals – is absurd. They must remain in our western lands where they had thrived without intervention as an important part of our past. Their remaining numbers in the low 10,000′s cannot be compared to the millions and millions of cattle in our west.
Would love to know the whole story, and so would my children. What is BLM doing with these horses, why are they being taken from their land. Please we need more news to people can speak up.
Please have your evening anchor research the truth of what is really going with with the wilds horses. They are NOT being protected. The BLM is doing some horrific things to these beautiful creatures. Please research this and find the truth. You will be shocked and sickened by what the BLM is doing to them. These horses don’t have a voice, we need to that voice. PLEASE explose the truth and let the people know what is really going on. It is our responsibilty to help them. Thank you, Michelle D.
Thank you so much for sharing the video of the natural beauty of the wild mustangs. But there is so much more the the story. Would you PLEASE have your evening new anchor expose the truth to what is really going on with these innocent creatures. I think people would love to see more about the wild horses what is being done or more importantly NOT done to protect them. The BLM is doing horrific and inhumane things to these special animals. They don’t have a voice. They need a voice. Please research this, you will be shocked and sickened by the BLM and what they are doing. It is criminal. These horses where here before we were. Please expose the truth. Getting the word out will only help these incrediably gorgous animals. These horses deserve to have rights and protection, it is our responsibilty to do so. PLease do a complete story and tell why they are vanishing!! It is not due to their enviornment or ability to survive. Their homes are being stolen from them. Their way of life being stolen from a government agency because they are in the way of big corporations. These anmals are the epitamy of America. These animals ancestors along with our ancestors built this country! They were given protection in 1971 by congress and now that is being stolen from them in record numbers. If we do not stop this these animals will be extinct at the hands of the BLM.

Why are we allowing these innocent and much loved animals to be cruelly rounded up and penned? Or worse: sent to slaughter? What happened to “management in the wild.” as the law prescribed? Or are we not a Nation ruled by law? Are we a Nation ruled by corporation? In this case that would be the cattle industry.

Can you please ask your evening news anchor, Katie Couric to do a piece on the BLM and the fact they are rounding up the horses at a record pace, confining them in pens, and many times, transporting them to Mexico and other countries to be slaughtered!
We must expose their practices to the American people. I believe they will be outraged to learn that our own government would do this to our only remaining wild horses…

Some time ago just after Obama took ocfife there was a TV big news splash about Mustangs being rounded up and killed — well it does break your heart. The BLM was round them up and some of them were chased so hard their hooves broke off (how sad). I could remember Marilyn Monroe yelling “murders” at Clark Gable in Misfits in the 1960s’. So I emailed the “foundation” that was making all the news and wanted to save the Mustang. The only thing they wanted was money and lots of it. But I’m on social security and I have very little money .. I have time. Nope, they wanted money and only money — millions of dollars of money. Well they did nothing with the money. The horses got rounded up and killed any way. Isn’t it the same for everything? Haiti – Sean Penn (and still they starve), Sally Struthers and the starving children, Hollywood extravaganza ..and a ground zero mosque .. lost of hoopla and fund raising and heart warming talk and LOST of MONEY .. and then nothing happens. Nothing happens. The horses die, the Haitians starve and get cholera, the land mines ares still there, the African militias still murder everybody, the Somalia pirates go on killing and somebody is trying to blow up New York.
