Breaking News – Rescue Of 55 Monkeys From Research Lab Happening Right Now!
As you read these words, I am at a toxicology laboratory in New Jersey leading the In Defense of Animals Rescue Team in an operation that defines my vision of a world with no cages. Recently 55 macaque monkeys and 118 beagles became “seized assets” when the lab went out of business and their fates changed forever. These animals were facing a life in prison-like cells and days full of unspeakable cruelty and isolation. That was until the moment I heard of this dismal situation – I made a promise to each of these innocent animals that IDA would shepherd them out of confinement and misery and into a new world of comfort and love.
I am happy to report to you all that the 118 beagles have already been relocated and today the 55 monkeys will begin their journey to four safe havens in Oklahoma and Texas. The future for these monkeys will be filled with fresh air, friends, and freedom from harm.
You only need to watch this video to see how important this mission is. (no graphic content)
This is long journey. We will post more videos and photos in coming days. They will travel about 1,700 miles to reach the sanctuaries where they will begin their new lives. We hope you will join us as we take these monkeys to their new homes and forever out of the reach of those who would exploit and torture them. Through your generous donations we will not only meet our commitment to these monkeys, but I believe we can free an unprecedented number of animals awaiting rescue from labs and other abusive environments and the misery and exploitation inflicted upon them. It is my hope that this will be just one more step in making a world without cages and one more victory for compassion over cruelty.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your work on behalf of animals. When animals are treated with love and respect . . . we know we will be heading towards a world that could be called heaven on earth.
Great Job! Thank You for standing up for the animals. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. I look forward to the day when the lab animals at PLRS in Corapeake, NC could have freedom too.
Great job , no one could have done better, than what you did to rescue these poor creatures, and to give them a new life…
This made my day. I am so happy for these helpless, beautiful creatures. Thank you with all my heart!
GREAT! Good work! Makes my day. I’m for ALL organizations that help & protect ALL animals!
I’m a member of PETA, too.
I am so glad you were able to free those monkeys and beagles. It is horrible to think what they have gone through. I have sent donations to “Save the Chimps” in both New Mexico and also Florida. I also discovered the chimp santuary in Washington. I not only send money but safe laundry detergent, safe cleaning products and hygiene products that are chemical free. They have been doused, poked and prodded enough with chemicals and drugs so if their life is
chemical free and happy with each other, that is so important. Thanks for saving them. Now I wish we could save the monkeys being used at UC San Francisco in Stephen Lisenberger’s torture chambers!!! Thanks for all you do.
Glory hallelujah! That is great news. Thank you for your heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears effort!
It is so good to hear good news in the Animal Advocacy world.
I had donated and will donate again when I am able.
I will share this, also.

PS FREEDOM for circus and zoo elephants, too!
IDA, you ROCK!
I am a 29 year old wife living in Idaho
Words cannot explain how I feel about what you are doing. When our country is falling apart, you see people like you doing the things you do. It makes me feel happy but also bring tears to my eyes. The tears because of how people view animals of all species and happiness because there are people out there like you that care. I wish I could donate money to your cause as I have to the WWF and an organization in Asia that helps saves moon bears from having their bile taken from them while they are caged their entire lives. However, like others…my husband was layed off. We are struggling every month to pay our morgage. I continue work for the University in my town. I hope to be able in the furture to give to your organization. I feel it is an ABSOLUTE nessecity. I am always here…I will protest..picket…whatever it takes. I don’t have much…but I do have time and a passion for your cause. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
Speaking of circus elephants….about 4 months ago I was getting out of my car at the University and the circus was in town
I watched them walk these sad looking elephants (2) through the parking lot from a trailer and I just weld up with tears. Thinking…that in a few short hours there was going to be people PAYING TO WATCH THIS. Then came 2 monkeys and 2 tigers. I wanted to just SCREAM. It seems as though no one cares. when I tell people I DO NOT go to zoo’s or circus’s. I do not support them. They look at me as though I am crazy. After seeing those animals I am serioiusly considering standing outside in front of the arena with a sign to show my oposition of caged animals for entertainment.
Thank you for letting me speak
Rebecca, fantastic post, I am with you sister!
