Act Now To Stop ABC Show Glamorizing Ringling Bros. Circus
ABC recently announced a new program in development called Bazirkus, which, according to Deadline Hollywood, is a soap opera “based loosely” on Nicole Feld of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Feld is the producer of the circus owned by her father, Kenneth Feld. The show would feature a “fictional circus” modeled after Ringling, which is notorious for its abuse of animals, and would likely feature live wild animals in its production. And by using live wild animals in its production, ABC would be participating in the abuse inherent in the training and use of these animals in entertainment.
Please send a message to ABC, urging the company to abandon the development of Bazirkus. You’ll need to personalize the message below, and then copy it onto ABC’s online form – click here to fill out the form. (You will be required to select information in the category and subject sections. Under category, choose “other” and under subject, choose “complaint.”)

I am horrified that ABC is considering a series called Bazirkus, based on the Ringling Bros. Circus, that will glorify this cruel form of entertainment and possibly use and abuse animals in its production. Animals in the circus are beaten, confined and forced to perform despite illness and injury. Babies are forcibly torn from their mothers for training. If ABC develops and airs Bazirkus, you will lose many viewers, including myself, to networks that don’t glorify animal abuse.
Thank you so much for helping elephants in captivity! To find out about other ways you can help – Please join our Elephant task Force!

This is animal abuse, and to think parents let their children watch..
Have you been paying attention????? CIRCUS IS OUT!!!! SANCTUARY AND WILDLIFE IS IN!!!!! So…stop promoting violence, abuses and animal exploitation on Tv!!! Be part of the solution, be part of the compassionate humanity…dont be part of the problem, dont exploit!!!
I will make sure that everyone I know and dont know will boycott your network if you continue to promote animal abuses
Pain, humiliation…it is no fun at all.
Stop ABC Show, please !
Please do not glorify Ringling Bros. with their long standing abusive treatment towards animals… Thank you, Mrs. Linda Faso
I cannot believe that, given the universal kudos given to “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” for its fantastic use of computer generated imagery instead of using real animals, ABC is considering stepping back to the bad old days of abusing animals for the sake of human entertainment. Thanks, IDA, for the alert!
To the fine employees at ABC,
I am new to this argument. I am not a vegan, not with PETA or any other group of animal advocates. What I am is someone who has been trying to find an argument for allowing elephants to perform in the circus and come up empty. Please have anyone with a reason that it should be allowed contact me.
If a reason for elephants to perform in the circus cannot be found I do not think it should happen.
Sincerely,
Don Carpenter
Glamorizing torture and abuse of animals is not the solution.
Do you remember the movie “Water For Elephant”? Although the producers guaranteed that the animals were not harmed during training,, a 2005 video surfaced showing despicable treatment of the star elephant, Tai (who was used in the movie) as well as other elephants, including a baby elephant. Elephants in circuses have never knows anything else but bad treatment, not wonder they accept treats. Circuses will tell lies to keep on acting abusively towards animals.
ABC should stand clear of this shameful practice.
ABC, you air a lot of terrific shows. Please do not tarnish your integrity by airing a show that promotes the abuse of animals. Ringling Bros. are known for their cruelty to animals. Please do not become a part of the problem! Be a part of the answer by airing a show about the value and intelligence of animals. Think of the influence you have in the media and the difference you can make in the lives of animals who are captive and bred for entertainment.
Thank you for your consideration!
ABC would do better to create a show about the tragic abuse of animals in our world, and especially in the US, where it is even more unforgivable. And a show about how animals give to us unconditionally, and communicate with us, if only we would listen.
Do not make it easier for circus animals to be abused. Its bad enough that humans look at animals as a disposable toy!
i am mortified that any respectable business would even consider glamorizing the abuse of animals. to have a program on ringling brothers circus, the epitome of abuse and cruelty, is in my mind barbaric and needless. are you that hard up for ratings??? please reconsider. you’ll be cutting your own throats…by that i mean, you will lose many many viewers.
Any TV show that glamorizes circuses is encouraging cruelty to animals. The animals who have lived and died in circuses like Ringling Brothers will have suffered in vain. Humane groups are working to educate the public about the evils of using animals in this primitive form of entertainment. I hate to see ABC producing a show like this. I hope they change their minds.
DO NOT GLORIFY ANIMAL ABUSE AND TORTURE!!
Ringling Bros. Circus is a sick sick sick entity to tie your name to. They shock, abuse, torture, and kill animals in their sick way to get money.
DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!
To ignore is to be an accomplice!
I will never ever ever watch ABC again if you do this sick show on your network! And I will let anyone and everyone know what you guys support. However, if you chosse not to do thi sick show,I will also spread the word in FAVOR of ABC.
It’s up to you

this totally disgusts me that an american news channel will promote animal cruelty. please do not watch this promotion. they should view the cruelty that these animals have to submit themselves to on a daily basis. i have 5 children and they have never been to the circus due to the abuse the animals have to suffer.
Don’t glamorize this HORRIBLE intertainment buisness. if the show had ANY reality in it, it would show the cruelty these beautiful animals suffer daily. please don’t support their sick agenda. don’t televise this!!!
Done!
